Planning and implementation of MES for any organisation will involve the following tasks.
- Identify the goals and purpose of the organisation to implement Manufacturing Execution System. This can vary from one organisation to another due to nature of industry, it’s size and goals.
- Involve all stake holders to understand the purpose for MES and motivate them to embrace the changes
- Involve all stake holders to create a workflow diagram and functional description of all it’s functions within the company
- Identify the legacy systems and it’s replacement / upgrade systems
- Identify required Software & Hardware
- Define how to integrate existing ERP / WMS, LIMS and any other existing systems used in the company
- Create a road map to implement the system
- Create detailed benefits and ROI on MES implementation
